The number of free Add-on Instructions available for the Allen-Bradley ControlLogix Programmable Automation Controller platform is quite impressive.
Just between the AOIs available from Rockwell’s Sample Code Website and their PlantPAx Library of Process Objects, there are over a hundred to choose from.
With that in mind, I’ve continued to expand my ControlLogix course’s coverage of add-on instructions by adding two new lessons covering this topic.
The first new lesson, “How to download and use AOIs,” walks the student through how to find and download AOIs from Rockwell’s sample code website.
Then the free “Scale With Parameters” (SCP) AOI is downloaded and added to our program to scale a live analog input from raw values to engineering units (setup of the analog input module is included.)
The second new lesson, “How to download and use Rockwell’s PlantPAx Library of Process Objects,” starts by walking the student through how to find and download this extensive library of AOIs and Faceplates.
Once downloaded, two Process (aka “P_”) AOIs are implemented into our program to simplify and replace functions handled by routines written earlier in the course.
So if you know someone who would like to become proficient in setting up, using, and programming the Allen-Bradley ControlLogix line of Programmable Automation Controllers, please take a moment to share a link to my course with them: www.PAC-Basics.com
